Click 41-year-old male with right knee pain and soft tissue mass due to sporotrichosis osteoarticular infection.
FINDINGS: 3 Tesla MRI without contrast shows maceration and complex tears of the medial and lateral menisci. A parameniscal cyst is noted at the body of the medial meniscus. The medial collateral ligament is bowed by the large effusion but intact. The large parameniscal collection extends through a defect in the posterior medial oblique ligament, posterior to the medial collateral ligament. The lateral collateral supporting structures are intact. The extensor mechanism is intact. The patellofemoral joint alignment is intact. Marrow edema is noted in the patella with associated erosion at the medial aspect of the patella. Osseous erosions are also noted at the medial femoral trochlea and central tibial eminence. A large joint effusion and popliteal cyst with extensive synovitis and synovial thickening are also noted.
MRI Technique: 3T Axial T2 with fat saturation (TR: 5742, TE: 51.52); no intravenous contrast.
