FINDINGS: Color Doppler ultrasound images show an incomplete carotid web in the left proximal ICA. An aliasing artifact is demonstrated at the level of the web on the color Doppler image. Spectral Doppler ultrasound of the neck demonstrates stenosis of the left proximal ICA due to the carotid web. There is a markedly elevated peak systolic velocity on spectral Doppler.
TECHNIQUE: Color Doppler and Spectral Doppler examinations were performed on a GE Logiq E (xd-clear platform) equipped with a linear array transducer (9L probe).

FINDINGS: B-flow ultrasound images show an incomplete carotid web in the left proximal ICA.
TECHNIQUE: B mode examinations were performed on a GE Logiq E (xd-clear platform) equipped with a linear array transducer (9L probe).

FINDINGS: Axial contrast-enhanced CT of the neck during the arterial phase show an incomplete web in the left proximal ICA, causing >70% stenosis.
TECHNIQUE: Sagittal CT of the neck, tube current = 486 mAs, tube voltage = 120 kV, slice thickness = 3 mm, intravenous administration of 75 mL Omnipaque 350 contrast material at a flow rate of 5-6 mL/s.
